Our diverse team of therapists — all licensed medical doctors —  work with you to unpack and address your conditions, moods, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.

We help you take control of your life and your ability to manage challenging situations with healthy coping mechanisms.

MBC Detroit is staffed by resident doctors of the Authority Health Psychiatric Residency program. These residents provide care under the supervision of the program leadership, as well as a team of seasoned local psychiatrists and psychotherapists.

After you reach out, we will match you to an available therapist who fits your objectives, preferences, and the type of issues you are dealing with. Different therapists have different approaches and areas of focus, so it’s important to find the right person who can achieve the best results for you. We have found that we are able to provide a successful match most of the time; however, if you start the process and you feel your therapist isn’t a good fit for you, you may elect to be matched to a different therapist.

Therapy can help you take control of your life and your ability to manage challenging situations with healthy coping mechanisms. If there are things that interfere with your happiness or prevent you from achieving your goals, we may be able to help. Our therapists offer help for a range of problems, including relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, self-defeating behaviors, parenting challenges, trauma, grief and loss, and life adjustments.

We are not staffed to help people in urgent crises or who require immediate psychiatric attention. If you are in an urgent crisis or an emergency situation, such as having suicidal thoughts or plans to harm yourself or someone else, please call 988 or Common Ground at (800) 231-1127.

We were founded to make mental health care accessible to Detroiters. We accept payment on a sliding scale. That means we can work with you to find a payment plan that fits your budget, so you can receive the help you need. It also means clients who are able to support our work at higher levels allow us to offer care to others. Connect with us today to learn more.
